How Does Life Start?

  • (-) Genome length dictates every conceivable combination and or permutation of bps (base pairs), there are many additional factors that add to the possible combinations that can occur, such as chemical modifications to basepairs, Post Translations Modifications, Chromatin organization, and etc. Device a formula to account for the amount of possibility/potential

"Standard Pool" vs "Overlapping ORFs"
bio potential formula

  • (-) This is exactly what I wanted. let's take it a bit further in thought. It is correct to say: It's a bit like a piano: the number of possible key-press combinations is infinite, but only a few result in a Mozart concerto. I'd like you to consider that there appears to be a pool of sequences that have incrementally evolved, why another group of sequences essentially counter balance which I think are the non-coding portions, but it also appears that open-reading frames complicate this theory. because how can a pool of sequences have multiple uses had there not been a pattern to build on. I imagine there would have to have been x amount of revolutions in sequences and availability that worked its ways toward a "standard" pool while non-coding and other proto evolutionally structures came to exist and then ceased to exist.
Stochastic Cycles
bio potential formula

  • (-) Lets just think some more before modifying this formula further. Yes these are revolutions I'm aware of, but what occurred in-between these 3 revolutions I estimate to be enormous, I imagine it's a bit like a steam engine in that its gradually builds up speed, speed being a loop such as the cell cycle or a cell as an alternating loop of expression and decay to balance itself. but early structures during or before the "RNA revolution" would of easy been destabilized by a new evolutionary function and at times destroyed it's loop, then "steam" would have to build once more. So I think there where billions of micro-revolutions, what do you think?
Water Paradox
bio potential formula

  • (-) I agree with that, but what about this thermodynamics problem, polymer synthesis rate, a 100-base long RNA molecule needs to be synthesized at least 100 times faster than the hydrolysis rate of a single phosphodiester bond. nucleo bases will decompose over long periods of time. cytosin hydrolyses to uracil with a half-life of 300 years at pH 7 and 25 degrees celsius in single strand DNA everything most likely occured within ~5 * 106 years
The "Seed"
bio potential formula

  • (-) we're going to consider some more concepts before I have you link all these concepts together into a formula. overlapping ORFs still confuse me, because there existence predicated on a few things. which is that this particular Information Molecular System has this intrinsic component. I think intrinsic is the correct word, but It can mean various things depending on context. intrinsic component is similar to a minecraft seed, but I don't know how where that seed exists within a 4 base information system. So its the entire structure that has a hidden feature
bio potential formula

  • (-) not exactly what I was considering, I think a seed number could be a numerical code that generates unique organisms, the "input" for a formula (not the one we've been discussing) where each result becomes the input for the next step for example, Next number = (current number + 5) x 3, if seed = 1 the sequence is 18, 69, 222. if seed = 2 the sequence is 21, 78, 249. So Earth's environment might be considered the seed in this analogy, but when I intially thought of it I was thinking what if G C where highly abundent with 10% A, and T so that would be the intial "seed" or if Adenine was highly abundent with 1-2% percent T, C, G, U, and that was another type of "seed number. Would we get the same result we have today? and if we do get the same result no matter the initial ingredients, than this Information Molecule does have a bias or a concerto inherent in it's very structure. which makes sense to me.
Chemical Determinism and Chaos Theory
bio potential formula

  • (-) yes
Unified Field Theory
bio potential formula

  • (-) Yes please, I too will do the math in my head and we'll compare
Determinism Factor
bio potential formula

  • (-) Yes. This a good formula. But I'm really thinking about how life came to exist in ~530 years with a polymerization rate faster than hydrolysis. Because its not adding up, lipid vesicles must of insulated, there must been a bubble era that somehow extended ~530 years. What kind of surface area would be enough to provide resources that could produce enough iterations to coalesce. Topics mentioned earlier mention how, but it still seems extremely fast to jump start percusor molecules and previously built components into a system that can maintain it's loop

  • (-) FUCK!

Formal Disclaimer

While the Theory of Biological Potential (Ω) provides a robust framework for understanding the transition from "stuff" to "life," it is important to treat it as a theoretical model—a conceptual map designed to navigate the immense complexity of abiogenesis, rather than a perfect mirror of physical reality.

The Limits of the Lens

  • Mathematical Idealization: In our "Steam Engine" metaphor, the variables (kp, kh, Χ) are represented as smooth, continuous functions. In the chaotic environment of the early Earth, these interactions were likely stochastic, non-linear, and influenced by "frozen accidents" that no single formula can fully predict.
  • Coefficient Sensitivity: The specific weights and constants used in the simulation are heuristic approximations. In a laboratory setting, a change in pH by a single point or the presence of a specific mineral catalyst (like molybdenum) could swing the kp variable by orders of magnitude not fully captured here.
  • The "Black Box" of Emergence: While Ω measures the potential for life, it does not solve the "Hard Problem of Biogenesis"—the exact moment a chemical system becomes "aware" or truly self-replicating. Math can predict the likelihood of the concerto, but it cannot always hear the first note.

Bottom Line: This formula is a high-level tool for Astrobiological Logic. It is designed to help us ask the right questions about where life could be, based on the laws of thermodynamics and information theory, but it remains a working model in a field where the "ground truth" is buried under four billion years of history.
